Ingredients
400 gr. tomato
250 gr. sugar
1 piece of lemon
250 ml of water

A good cooking of the tomatoes makes it possible to achieve the right consistency of the jam. Adding the sugar gradually and stirring the mixture continuously ensures that the sugar is evenly distributed. The jam should be filled into jars while still hot and stored in an airtight container.

How to Cook?

Peel the skins of the tomatoes you have washed.
Put the peeled tomatoes in a pot and after adding water, bring to a boil and remove from the stove as soon as it starts to boil.
Continue boiling until the tomatoes become soft.
Add granulated sugar to the softened tomatoes and stir them.
After adding the sugar, leave the mixture to boil over low heat.
Squeeze one lemon and add its juice to the boiling pot.
After adding the lemon juice, boil it for one more time and remove from the stove as soon as it starts to boil.
Continue boiling until the mixture reaches the consistency of jam. To check the consistency of the jam, you can take a little bit with a spoon, cool it down and check the consistency after it cools down. The jam you cooled on the spoon should have the consistency of gel.
Pour the cooked jam into the sterilised glass jars, while still hot.
Close the jars tightly and turn them upside down to cool.
After the jam in the jars has cooled completely, you can open them and start consuming.
You can consume the jam for breakfasts or use it in desserts.
You can preserve the uncovered jam in the refrigerator or in your kitchen under suitable conditions.
