Ingredients
5 pieces of tomato
1 small onion
3 cloves of garlic
10 gr. salt
20 gr. sugar
2 tablespoons of olive oil

Key Points

Chopping the tomatoes into very small cubes will speed up the cooking process and make the sauce more homogeneous. The onion and garlic need to be well roasted beforehand, so that the basic flavours of the sauce can be felt more strongly on the palate. It remains important to boil the sauce for a long period of time in order to obtain a thick and dense consistency.

How to Cook?

Cut the tomatoes into small cubes.
Finely chop the onion.
Peel and finely chop the garlic.
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan.
Add the finely chopped onion and fry over medium heat until the onion has a transparent appearance.
Then add the chopped garlic cloves and continue to roast them until they start to smell.
Add the chopped tomatoes on the roasted onion and garlic.
Cook the ingredients until the tomatoes start to release their juice and begin to boil.
When the mixture starts to boil, add the salt and sugar and mix it thoroughly.
Mix all the ingredients over low heat and continue cooking until the sauce has thickened.
After the tomato sauce has been cooked and thickened, remove the saucepan from the stove and let it cool down for a while.
You can serve the tomato sauce you have prepared either hot or cold, depending on your preference.
After pouring the tomato sauce into the jars, you can store them in the refrigerator.
You can use tomato sauce with pastas, meat dishes, vegetables or consume it as a breakfast sauce.
